Hygienic Hose Products & Services

U Series Hose

In tightly regulated industries like, Biopharma, Pharma, Biotech, Food Processing and Medtech, product choice needs to be right first time, especially where processes are fixed over the production lifecycle to minimise change-out. Swagelok Scotland, Teesside & Ireland is well-equipped to support these industries with hygienic hose solutions and services that help maintain a sanitary and sterile environment, reducing plant maintenance costs and easy cleaning, driving facility efficiency, reliability and unnecessary plant downtime.

Hose Product and Compliance

Swagelok recognise that safety, cleanability, product specification and compliance are some of the most important industry best practices. This is why all our hoses are supplied with validation documentation certifying materials of construction for FDA, USP Compliance, etc.

The smooth bore U Series and S Series hoses from Swagelok offer superb flexibility and cleanability, with outstanding kink resistance. Material complies with FDA regulation 21CFR Part 177.1550, USP <88> Class VI (121°C) and 3-A for contact with water, food and beverage. The S Series hose is available in 1/8 to 3/4" sizes while the U Series is recommended in 1 to 2" sizes. Both hose types can be seen in solvent and product transfer lines as well as CIP, SIP, WFI, CS and PWEC, waste transfer and N2 supply applications. Other hygienic hoses are also available for less demanding requirements.

Take a look at our Hose Selection Considerations using the S.T.A.M.P.E.D method for more information about how to select the correct hose for your specific application.

Hose Assemblies

As hoses can be the last component considered within a fluid system and are often required for quick turnaround, our Assembly Engineers are fully trained and certified to assemble hoses with our Motherwell facility, and can fabricate hoses to your requirements allowing you to focus on other areas of your facility. Quick connects, valves, regulators, fittings and other fluid system components are also available for pre-assembled solutions.

With common sizes, lengths and end connections in stock, and all hose assemblies tested and supplied with documentation, we can help meet your hose assembly needs. Our hose assemblies are also backed by the Swagelok Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Hose Advisory Service

Failed hose assemblies require time and resources that you may not have. Our field engineering team can complete a visual inspection and analysis of all hose systems and work with your team to discuss your hose objectives, helping you take a more preventative approach to your hoses in service. Following a thorough inspection of your hose installations, you receive an expert-reviewed report containing details of the overall findings, as well as prioritised recommendations for improvement and suggested replacement options.

Our field engineers would also provide suggested preventative maintenance schedules and hose inspection recommendations. This would encompass a new or existing hose management register with our inspection findings, hose part numbers and serial numbers, all of which will be dependent on your facility requirements.

Training

To help reduce maintenance costs, extend hose lifecycles and improve safety, it is important to ensure hoses are selected, installed and inspected correctly. Whilst our engineers can provide recommendations through our Hose Advisory Service, this can be supported by Hose Essentials training, which is designed to provide your technicians and engineers with an awareness of hose and flexible tubing considerations, components, identification, selection and installation best practices as well as inspection practices in line with energy institute guidelines.
