QHSE Coordinator
Job Description:
We have an exciting opportunity to join the business as a QHSE Coordinator. This role is an opportunity to build hands-on experience across a wide range of QHSE activities and building a career within a supportive environment.
Supporting the QHSE Team Lead, this position will support the delivery of our Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental objectives. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career in QHSE, working closely with experienced colleagues to ensure systems, processes and compliance requirements are effectively maintained.
Duties include:
- Assist with Implementation and Maintenance of Management System and Standards.
- Conduct internal audits, ensuring compliance with standards and identification of trends.
- Assist with QHSE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to track and report performance.
- Develop understanding of relevant Swagelok Corporate Policies and procedures.
- Assist with QHSE strategies for local and corporate objectives.
- Assist with accident, incident and near miss investigations.
- Maintain company registers.
- Carry out risk and COSHH assessments.
- Manage and liaise with contractors on site.
- Plan and conduct emergency drills.
- Stay informed on HSE developments and regulatory changes that affect the company.
- Significant contribution to a proactive culture of risk management and strengthening process safety barriers.
- Assist with external audits where necessary.
- Provide support to all managers and supervisors on QHSE related matters.
- Perform any other reasonable activities that support QHSE and business objectives.
Working Hours:
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- Flexible start time between 7.30am and 8.30am
Qualifications & Skills:
Essential
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015, 45001:2018.
- Membership of IOSH (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards this.
- Knowledge of business management systems and excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work using own initiative or as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Adaptability and problem-solving capability.
- Professional communication skills with the ability to engage at all organisational levels, including with customers.
- Positive and flexible attitude.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Understands and can navigate the UK regulatory requirements.
- Must demonstrate personal values that are aligned with Swagelok Company Values.
Preferred
- Internal auditing qualification and experience.
- IOSH managing safely or equivalent H&S qualification.
- Membership of IOSH (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards this.
