Grab Sampling System Assemblies

Configurable, Local, Reliable Grab Sampling Solutions

Swagelok® Grab Sampling Systems are designed to maximise operator safety, ease-of-use, and uptime as well as ensuring proper sample delivery and capture, and maintaining timely and representative samples.

Our local application engineers will take you through a checklist of details to ensure you get a sampling panel that meets your needs. We evaluate your system parameters, including:

  • Temperature
  • Pressure
  • Phase compatibility
  • Container type
  • Material of construction
  • Specialist surface coatings to avoid low PPM absorption
  • Installation location

If you have requested an analytical system evaluation of your current sampling system, our field engineers, technical experts, and assembly team work together with your team to provide recommendations on the correct solution for your application. Our trained assembly technicians and engineers undergo training every 3 years to ensure they have the most up-to-date knowledge and experience to assist you with grab sampling solutions.

Grab Sampling Solutions

Our standard grab sampling panels are fully configurable, locally built, and supported, allowing you to capture accurate, representative process samples, maintaining their chemical composition throughout transportation and storage for analysis.

We offer two types of grab sampling systems that provide gas and liquid non-slurry sampling service:

Grab Sample ModuleGrab Sample Liquid Panel

The Swagelok® Grab Sample Module (GSM) sampling system draws from a positive-pressure process and returns either back to the process at a lower pressure or to a safe vent location. A GSM uses sealed, metal, pressure-containing sample cylinders to capture either gas, volatile liquid or a stable liquid. The sample panels can be configured in either standard, standard with purge, continuous flow and continuous flow with purge or flush or both. The aim is to have the ability to take a representative sample of the process in a timely manner. The GSM is fully configurable to maximise safe sampling with the ability to have a single valve handle operation that helps avoid costly mistakes.

The Swagelok® Grab Sample Liquid (GSL) is a non-volatile liquid-only sampling system, used where the process fluid is not at risk of fractionating when stored at atmospheric pressure. This panel is used for drawing fluid into a non-pressure containing, lower-cost glass or polyethylene laboratory bottle with a self-sealing septum cap, allowing samples to be drawn and transported without the risk of spillage or evaporation. This method allows immediate feedback on the visual quality of the sample stream.

Both sampling system types are available in fixed-volume versions that separate the process pressure from the sample receptacle and operators, preventing overfilling and overpressure conditions.

Using our 15 standard panel designs, you can simply order a grab sampling panel with a single part number, or our technicians can work alongside you to configure a custom panel to meet your specific plant application needs, backed by the Swagelok Limited Lifetime Warranty. Our grab sampling systems can include a variety of accessories including additional instrumentation, sample coolers, automation, relief valves and rupture discs, exotic alloys and different mounting options to name a few. Our grab sample panels come with full operating instructions on the panel and a maintenance manual for easy repair. Browse the Grab Sampling Product Catalogue for a full list.
